Book Club Box Cancellation & Pre-Order Process

1. Subscription & Payment

  • When you subscribe to The New Romantics Book Club Box, your payment is collected at the time of signup and then recurs monthly on the 3rd of each following month for as long as your subscription remains active.

2. What Happens After You Subscribe

  • Each month’s box is curated with a selected romance book and themed goodies.

  • You’ll generally know the book pick about a week before subscriptions open for the next month’s box.

3. Shipping & Timing

  • Boxes are typically shipped by the second week of each month, subject to book release timing and supply arrival.

  • If a book’s release date is later in the month, shipping may be adjusted accordingly.

4. Skipping & Pausing

  • You may skip up to two months back-to-back if you’re not into a particular book pick, as long as you do so before your next billing date on the 3rd. 

  • You may also choose to pause your subscription by contacting the store before the next charge date. Your subscription will automatically resume after it has been paused for two months.

5. Cancelling Your Subscription

Before Your Next Charge Date:

  • To cancel and avoid another monthly charge, you must request cancellation before the 3rd of the month (your next billing date).

If You Cancel After Being Charged:

  • You will still receive the box for that month (because payment has already been processed).

  • Cancellation prevents future monthly charges after the current subscription cycle ends.

  • Example: If you’re charged on Jan 3 but cancel on Jan 4, Jan’s box will still be fulfilled and shipped/shipped; your subscription will not renew on Feb 3.

6. Refunds

  • Because subscription boxes are a recurring service with curated and usually time-sensitive content, refunds after a box has been charged and/or shipped are generally not issued.

  • If there is a billing error or significant issue with delivery, you should contact support at hello@thenewromanticsbooks.com for assistance — the team will review on a case-by-case basis.

7. General Notes

  • By subscribing, you agree to automatic monthly billing and authorize charges until you cancel.

  • You must be an active subscriber to attend member-exclusive book club events and receive member perks.

Pre-Order Cancellation, Refund & Shipping Policy

By placing a pre-order with us, you acknowledge and agree to the following terms:

Payment

  • Full payment is collected at the time the pre-order is placed to secure your copy.

Release & Fulfillment Timeline

  • Pre-order books will be fulfilled and shipped within 1–2 weeks of the official release date, unless otherwise noted.

  • Once your order is ready, you will receive a Ready for Pick-Up or Shipping Confirmation notification as soon as it is available.

Incentives & Extras

  • Any pre-order incentives (including but not limited to signed copies, bookmarks, art prints, or other promotional items) are not guaranteed.

  • Incentives are offered while supplies last and may change due to circumstances outside of our control.

Shipping for Pre-Orders

Multiple Pre-Orders in One Order

  • If multiple pre-order books are placed within one order, the entire order will ship once the final book in that order has been released, unless additional shipping fees are added.

  • All books will be shipped to the address provided at checkout.

Additional Shipping Fee (Optional)

If you would like your pre-order books to ship individually as they release, you must add the Additional Shipping Fee to your cart.

  • You’ve already paid for shipping once — the Additional Shipping Fee covers the extra shipments required for additional books.

  • Without adding the required Additional Shipping Fee(s), your order will ship only once, after the final book releases.

How many times should I add the Additional Shipping Fee?

  • 2 preorder books → add once

  • 3 preorder books → add twice

  • 4 preorder books → add three times

  • And so on

Bundling Preorders (Shipping Saver Option)

We’re happy to bundle preorder releases to help you save on shipping.

For example:
If you preorder eight books releasing across different months, we can group them by release month so they ship together instead of separately. That means fewer shipments and fewer shipping charges.

Why We Do It This Way

When multiple pre-orders are placed in one order, shipping is only charged once. If we shipped each book individually as it released without collecting additional shipping, we would incur multiple postage and packaging costs on a single order.

To keep our small business sustainable — and to continue offering fun preorder opportunities — we offer the Additional Shipping Fee so customers who prefer immediate, separate shipments can still receive their books as soon as each title releases.

Cancellations

  • Pre-orders may be canceled prior to the book’s release date.

  • Once the book has been released or the order has entered the fulfillment process, cancellations are no longer accepted.

Refunds

  • Approved cancellations made before release will receive a full refund to the original form of payment.

  • Orders that have already shipped or have been marked Ready for Pick-Up are non-refundable.
