After Lily Huxley’s best friend falls victim to the elusive Kodak Killer, she’s convinced cosmic justice has abandoned Cleosville. With a thirst for revenge, she creates a “Karma for Hire” platform where requests for retribution are submitted as easily as ordering takeout. 

During late-night recon, she meets Aster, a handsome stranger who has her wondering if there’s more to life than work, sleep, repeat. But when a body is discovered shortly after, she suspects her new crush is the killer she’s been searching for. 

Aster Blake is a local crime journalist, exposing the city's sins while harboring a secret of his own—one with bleach, body bags, and fake alibis. During a getaway, he’s distracted by the curious, beautiful, and highly suspicious Lily Huxley. But after realizing he’s her latest target, the pair become entangled in a dangerous game of mutual stalking until a new victim forces them into an unlikely partnership. 

But unmasking the Kodak Killer is far from simple, and between near-death experiences and steamy late-night stakeouts, the line between allies and attraction blurs. Lily’s supposed to be balancing the cosmic scales, not falling for the man who’s a self-proclaimed reaper. But as danger lurks closer, one question remains: 

Will her desire for revenge become her demise, or will karma come for her in a way she never expected?
