Gates of Bellthorn

There are five doors.

This isn’t a dorm. They left me here in this room with nothing but a bed, the darkness, and five locked doors.

Instead of preparing for my classes, I tremble, dreading what might come in next. I can’t sleep in a state of terror waiting for the door to open. Any door. Five men with 24/7 access.

Days go by, and my body gives up. I close my eyes and fall asleep, just to wake up with hands all over my body.

I never see their faces, but they make themselves known. Breath over my neck, a hand covering my mouth, and all I can do is hate myself for not being vigilant enough. I fell asleep.

The gates of Bellthorn are locked up tight, with me stuck inside. But I’m only one secret. There are far more to discover.
